Mike Slayden
Founder and Executive Director
Mike launched Off the Front in 2009 with a desire to make an impact on three issues that were plaguing Fresno: overwhelming poverty, substandard education & skyrocketing childhood obesity.
A transplant from Texas, Mike has been involved in the non-profit sector since 2001 with a passion to make a difference in the lives of people.
Mike is an avid cyclist, skier, hiker, and general lover of all things outdoors.
Together is his wife Michele, Mike calls Clovis home where they are raising three amazing daughters.
Michele Slayden
Office Manager
As Off The Front’s Office Manager, Michele wears many hats. When she isn’t crunching numbers and keeping up with administrative tasks behind the scenes, you can find her teaching math at a local high school.
As a former dietetics major turned math teacher, she is passionate about kids, nutrition, education, and seeing kids succeed in life.
Her idea of a perfect day is a slow morning coffee, hanging out with friends and family, playing games, and getting in a nice long walk or hike.
Lindsey Mariano
Program Director
In 2013, Lindsey joined the Off The Front team and has since enjoyed pursuing her passion for holistic wellness for communities through her role with our organization.
Creating program curriculum, recruiting and training all volunteers, and acting as correspondent with partnering schools, Lindsey plays a major role in helping us reach our organizational goals.
Lindsey did her undergraduate and graduate work in Chicago, studying human services and exercise science, graduating summa cum laude.
Lindsey’s greatest joy is doing life with her husband and two kids. They enjoy traveling and exploring the Downtown Fresno and Tower Neighborhoods by foot or bike while partaking in excellent coffee, food, and conversation. She has a heart for social justice and loving all people well.
